A Morning Full of Furry Friends
The day started with a first look that set the tone for the entire adventure. Molly and Jon wanted their pups, Tucker and Goldie, to be part of the magic. The dogs were so excited to see their mom that Jake actually had to hold them back so Jon could turn around for the first look! It was chaotic in the best way possible, and honestly, a day spent hiking through the woods with two excited dogs is exactly how an elopement should start.
Embracing the “November in the UP” Magic
November up north is notoriously unpredictable—you might get a blizzard, sunshine, or gale-force winds. Molly and Jon got the full UP experience: a beautiful, golden morning followed by those iconic, blustery Lake Superior winds.
The couple had been secretly hoping for the big, crashing waves that only those winds can bring. We even spotted surfers braving the freezing lake! There is something incredibly grounding about standing on the shoreline as the wind whips around you – it made the ceremony feel that much more intimate and significant.
A Heartfelt Ceremony by the Water
After our morning adventure, we met up with their families at a quiet cove tucked away from the main trails. Surrounded by the sound of the waves and their favorite people, they exchanged vows. It was the perfect blend of an adventure elopement and a classic small wedding.
We spent the rest of the day exploring the rocky shoreline, braving the cold gusts together, and sharing a toast as the sun dipped below the horizon. Molly and Jon have the kind of easygoing, lighthearted spirits that make an entire day feel like a breeze, even when the wind is gusting!
