Katie & Jonny’s Upper Peninsula Elopement

Katie & Jonny had the most beautiful, intentional Upper Peninsula elopement with just three of their closest loved ones by their side. Their day was simple, adventurous, and completely true to who they are as a couple.

A Perfect May Day in the Upper Peninsula

One of my favorite things about eloping in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is that you never really know what kind of weather you’re going to get. May can bring anything from snow to sweltering heat. The week before Katie & Jonny’s wedding, it was in the 90s. The week after, it dropped into the 40s. And the night before? Severe storms rolled through. But somehow, their day landed right in the sweet spot: sunny skies, a light breeze, and a perfect 70 degrees. ☀️

An Intimate Ceremony on the Beach

Katie & Jonny spent a quiet morning getting ready together before lacing up their boots and hiking into their ceremony spot. On the beach, with the waves crashing onto the shore, they exchanged private vows in the sand. It was intimate, emotional, and so meaningful to witness.

After their ceremony, they shared a cozy dinner with their guests before setting out for one more adventure: a mountaintop hike at sunset. At the summit, they read letters from loved ones and watched the sun sink over one of the most breathtaking views in the UP. The whole evening felt magical—the perfect way to close out a day full of love and intention.

Why We Love Upper Peninsula Elopements

Katie & Jonny’s elopement is such a beautiful reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Planning an Upper Peninsula elopement means you can blend adventure with intimacy, whether that’s hiking to a mountaintop, exchanging vows on a beach, or celebrating with just a few of your favorite people.

Katie & Jonny, thank you for trusting us to capture your story. Congratulations, and here’s to all the adventures ahead! ❤️

Here’s what they said about working with us for their day:

“Brittany and Jake were amazing to work with for our elopement and helped us craft the perfect day. It was important to us to find a photographer who would help with planning, capture the day as it occurred, and fit well into our small group. Brittany was incredibly helpful from beginning to end – she helped us find perfect locations, was reassuring and supportive throughout the planning process, and made it possible for us to have a low stress wedding! On wedding day, both Brittany and Jake were an invaluable presence and of course – THE PICTURES ARE INCREDIBLE! Thank you both so much, we couldn’t have asked for more.”
