If you’re beginning to think about planning your elopement or intimate wedding, it can be overwhelming to figure out the first step. Is it the date, a photographer, the location, the plan for your day? And to be completely honest, there is no one way to plan your elopement.
By choosing an elopement or intimate wedding, you’re already choosing the non-traditional route. So your planning may be non-traditional too, and that’s completely fine!
I’ve had couples reach out to me who have their location and date selected, and already have a lot of ideas for what they want to do on their day. And I’ve also had couples reach out who are completely open to location ideas, flexible with their date, and looking for ideas of what to do on their day. There is no wrong way to start!
I love to help couples plan out their perfect day, from start to finish. I am more than just your photographer – I help with custom location scouting, activity and timeline suggestions, vendor recommendations, and more. My number one priority is helping you experience the best day of your lives!
If you’re looking for more information about the process of hiring me for your elopement, the steps are listed below!
1. Contact me!
The very first step is to contact me. If you haven’t decided on an elopement location or specific date yet, that’s not a problem! I can recommend locations and the best time of year to visit those locations.
After you contact me, I will send over detailed pricing information, and we’ll move on to step 2!
2. Phone call.
I hate talking on the phone as much as the next millennial, but the phone call is such an important part of booking! We’ll chat, get to know each other better, and I’ll begin brainstorming location and activity ideas based on our conversation. I want to make sure that I’m a good fit for every couple that books with me, and speaking on the phone is the best way to make sure we’re a good fit.
If speaking on the phone is not an option for you, we can also chat via Zoom or over email.
3. Retainer and contract.
If you decide to book with me after we speak on the phone, I’ll send over a contract and invoice. The retainer is 50% of the total package (I am also open to payment plans if the 50% retainer doesn’t fit your budget), and the remainder is due 30 days before the date of your elopement. Signing your contract and paying your retainer secures me as your photographer, and then we start planning!
4. Planning!
The first thing I do after you sign the contract and pay the invoice is send over my elopement planning guide. It is a very thorough guide that includes tons of information about planning your day! I also send over a location scouting questionnaire to learn more about what you’re looking for in a location. After that questionnaire is completed, I send over specific location ideas within a few weeks.
5. Vendors, accommodations, and timeline.
After you’ve selected a location, I can provide recommendations for any vendors you need. You can start searching for accommodations (I’m also happy to help you with this search!) in the area. As we get closer to your date, I will send over a timeline questionnaire that I’ll use to help put together your timeline for the day. Then we’ll chat on the phone or over email to finalize your timeline!
6. The best day!
After all of the planning and getting ready for the day, it’s finally here! I will be there for you every step of the way, documenting your beautiful and unique day from start to finish.
7. Sneak peeks and full gallery.
I know how important it is to couples to have photos right after their elopement, so I always provide sneak peek images within 24 hours! Full galleries are delivered within 6 weeks. The online gallery includes your high resolution photos, and you are able to order prints and albums directly through your online gallery!
No matter where you choose to elope, I am here to help guide you through the process of eloping. I will be your photographer, your guide, your cheerleader, and your friend on the best day of your life.
Remember, you can make your wedding day whatever you want it to be!
